A quality portrait session is not merely about what you’re wearing and where you’re standing, or even how good your photographer is at wielding a camera.
It is the photographer’s job to create an experience of ease, appreciation, humor, and trust, so that you feel safe enough to let your unique, beautiful spark shine through.

This, to me, is the difference between a picture and a portrait.
In addition to being a photographer, I am also a psychotherapist, and I love to use my skills to help my subjects feel free enough to let their spirit and natural beauty come forward.
I have been working as a professional portrait photographer for 20 years. While I love the intensity of weddings and have shot more than 500 in my career, portraits allow me to slow down and really get to know the people I photograph.
I photograph families, children, senior portraits, couples, pets, maternity, newborn, and corporate portraits, as well as headshots for therapists, healers, and other professionals. Portrait sessions are $275. One-hour at your location of choice in the Oakland/Berkeley/Alameda area and include an online, password-protected gallery of all your images, from which you will choose your three favorites. I will retouch these for exposure, color, and cropping and deliver them to you via email as both high-resolution, print-ready files and web-optimized files.
Additional images beyond the three included are available at a fee of $75 per image, $150 for three, or $299 for the entire collection.
Payment can be made with cash, check, Paypal, or Square. Additional fee for locations outside Sebastopol. Detailed facial or background retouching available for an additional fee.
