Vanessa + Mike got married at The Depot Hotel in Sonoma, CA. I’ve been fortunate enough to be chosen as one of The Depot’s preferred vendors and have enjoyed shooting there frequently this past wedding season. Vanessa and Mike had a lively and beautiful Jewish wedding celebration that was a total blast!
Day After shoots are so much fun! I love getting to photograph bride and groom portraits when everyone’s relaxed and there are no time constraints. And the best part is that keeping the dress and suit clean doesn’t matter anymore, so couples are willing to get in the water, get sandy, and create some awesome, unforgettable Northern California photos! Bodega Bay in the morning is the perfect setting for a shoot like this – I’m so grateful that I live so close to the coast!
Back in September, I had the pleasure of photographing Becca and Kevin get hitched at Healdsburg Clubhouse in the very beautiful wine country town of Healdsburg. I’ve been so busy this season that I’m just now getting to update my blog. The Healdsburg Clubhouse is on a golf course, which is a perfect backdrop for photos and makes my job easy. Becca and Kevin’s love was palpable and inspiring. Fortunately, I got to hang with them again a few days later for their Day-After shoot at Bodega Bay. Oh here’s a fun game – in the shot of the guys walking toward the camera, can you spot all their smartphones in their pockets?
Every now and then I shoot a wedding where the bride puts so much thought into each and every detail that I just have to feature more photos than usual. This is one of those weddings! Tiffany transformed her family’s gorgeous property at Mill Creek Bridge in Healdsburg into a shabby-chic, ultra-charming, custom wedding venue. And, she and Matt have a little girl who added the perfect amount of cuteness factor to the pics – there’s nothing like your baby girl playing in the aisle while you’re getting married to create an unforgettable image. Congrats to Tiffany and Matt!
Jaemi and Matt got married aboard the SS Jeremiah O’Brien and celebrated with a party down in the galley of the ship. The ship is docked at San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf and functions as a living museum to present the story of the men and women who built, sailed, and defended the World War II ship. Jaemi’s grandfather was among them, so their choice of wedding location had special meaning. The extreme and varied lighting conditions at this wedding, as well as the logistics and space constraints of shooting on a ship made documenting this wedding very challenging. It was like a wedding photographer’s master class and I was very grateful for my 15 years of experience shooting to do this event justice!
